The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries for the Direct Archdiocesan District is pleased to announce the launch of its new website, districtyouth.goarch.org. The Direct Archdiocesan District Youth Commission originally assigned the project to Yianni Mavrogiannis, Ted Krekoukis and Alexis Kotsis who worked hard with Fr. Constantine Lazarakis and District Youth Director Deacon Evagoras Constantinides to develop a site that was both functional and fun. “Without the commitment and hard work of people like Yianni, Ted and Alexis, we wouldn’t have such a great site for this very important ministry. Our youth are becoming increasingly more tech savvy, turning to the Internet more and more. While we must never abandon our traditional ministry, we have to realize at the same time the importance of not simply a web presence, but of a relevant and updated presence,” commented Deacon Evagoras.
The new site will allow the young people and parents of the Direct Archdiocesan District to be more connected with the many ministries of the Youth Office. The website will feature new and exciting material, such as the blog that will be updated by clergy and youth workers from all around the District. Additional content will include a full list of current youth events as well as sections for news, outreach, and athletic ministries. Visitors will also be able to directly access the website of Camp Saint Paul, the popular camping ministry of the Direct Archdiocesan District.
The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Direct Archdiocesan District is located at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in New York City, and is under the pastoral care of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios. For more information, visit us online at districtyouth.goarch.org.
